About us
The Center for NeuroAI investigates the foundations of consciousness and human experience through integrative neuroscience, computation, and philosophy.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Center for NeuroAI is to develop a principled science of consciousness and human experience: clarifying the foundations upon which neuroscience, artificial intelligence, clinical medicine, and moral inquiry depend.
About the Center for NeuroAI
Research at the Center for NeuroAI focuses on the foundational science of consciousness and human experience. Rather than beginning with ethical or policy questions, our work addresses prior assumptions, such as what experience is, what kind of beings humans are, and what biological, computational, and physical processes are necessary for conscious life. We integrate neuroscience, developmental psychology, computational modeling, physics, and philosophy to develop principled accounts of mind that can guide future work in medicine, artificial intelligence, and moral reasoning. By working at the foundations, the Center aims to clarify the conceptual terrain shaping emerging technologies and human self‑understanding.
